12 Kits of Christmas...

It's the 29th...
which is officially the last day of this month...
so time for our February...

If you've ever visited before this is similar to the 4 of a Kind kits that Joyce, Cathy, Kim and I have each month...
only there's 12 of us and this is all about Christmas!
And there is some amazing talent in this group...
you will definitely want to go and oogle all the goodness they have for you...
I am so out of my league with these incredible ladies.
But first...
a peek at what I was able to do with all of this...

Kara snapped this pic of the goodies...
and thank goodness she did because well...
I forgot.
Again.
I think we should make her the official photo taker for us...
her photos are so awesome...
and she also remembers to do it...
*giggle*

Cathy was in charge of kits this month and sent some fun goodies from Memory Box...
papers from their Yuletide Collection...
and Wesley Bear stamp and die.
We also got sentiments from Holiday Lights and In the Meadow by PTI, Compliments of the Season by Waltzingmouse and Cocoa Bear by Lil' Inkers.
Some ribbon, buttons, a snowglobe from My Time Made Easy and snowflakes!!

And here's what I came up with...

We add our own card base...
but almost everything you see is from the kit...
though I did use a Grand Madison that was left over from last month's kit...
we get so many goodies that being able to pull from past kits to combine with new kits will make pulling more cards together a snap!!
And you're probably noticing that I didn't use the snowglobe and wondering why...
I'm going to confess something here but you have to promise not to tell...
promise?
I couldn't figure out how to fold it.
But ssshhhh...
don't tell anyone!
*wink*

Now to go see what everyone else was able to come up with using this fabby kit..

Renee (you're here)
Cathy
Suzanne
Marybeth
Joyce
Amy
Christina
Kim
Kara
Jessica
Jeanne
Sharron

And we'll be back again next month...
Suzanne is our hostess and we've already received the goodies...
you'll die over all the yummy goodness!

More Silhouette Love...

Hi, everyone!
I hope you are having a fabulous day!
I know...
it's Monday...
how could it be fabulous...
right?
Well...
the sun is shining...
we're going to see temps into the 60's...
I only have one sick kiddie at home...
though Robert did try and convince me he was having a relapse...
and if that didn't work...
it didn't...
he was prepared to tell me he had no clean jeans because even though he has not been out into the world since last Wednesday...
he managed to wear every pair of jeans in his closet and then tried hiding them so I wouldn't be able to find them to throw in the washer though it seems the last four days have seen me doing nothing but laundry and sterilizing in hopes of killing of this horrid stomach flu.
Only one problem...
I found his stash of jeans last night and threw them in!
Sometimes I amaze myself in knowing what each kid will attempt before they even know they will attempt it...
I knew what he was up to last week when he changed jeans twice in one day and he didn't step one toe outside...
*giggle*

But we're finally getting back to normal...
if there is such a thing.
OK...our normal!
And since I have been playing a bit in between loads of laundry...
and have had some of my new and old Memory Box/Poppystamps dies and that gorgeous silhouette stamp on my table...
I decided to play just a bit and discovered that my frolicking children (Hero Arts) works quite well with my Grand Madison too...
see...

Oh...Suzanne did you know you would see so much of this stamp when you gave it to me?
I scored some white cardstock and then used the small window box die to create a wainscoting effect...
got the idea from JJ Bolton ...
and used some gorgeous paper from October Afternoon's Sidewalk line as my "wallpaper"...
did a little spray courtesy of of Kittie here...
which I think gives it a little extra...
what do you think?

OK...off to hunt for more hidden laundry...
but before I go...
previews have started on Claire's blog for 9 new Waltzingmouse sets to be released on Wednesday...
and she is offering up one dillybanging prize package...
plus some extra surprises...
go check it all here!

Market Street Block Party

Hi, everyone!
Hope you are all having a fabby weekend!
Me...
still dealing with stomach flu...
but at least we're down to just one kiddie now!
Hopefully I can leave my Lysol haze soon!

But I wanted to pop in quickly with my very first Market Street Stamps Block Party!

They host this each month after release...
and did you catch their release the other night?
That cute little Cinderella birdie from Home Sweet Home...
I die!
Every card featuring that little birdie...
DIE!!
So well...
of course...
it had to come to my house!
And oh my giggling goodness...
got shipping notice first thing Friday morning...
so I'm expecting a little happy mail tomorrow!

OK...so this is their party to get through the lull of waiting for the goodies...
and it's the first time I've ever played along and I'm not sure of the rules so if I'm breaking any...
please don't tell me because I'm having fun doing it my way...
*giggle*
But I used a couple of new sets from last month Bon Voyage and Travelscapes....
and this is what I did...

I tried to give the mountains and clouds that hazy, "low-laying" cloud effect...
I'm not sure that I should be the one attempting that in the future.
And look...

it moves!!
So cool!

OK...off to sterilize more things...
give my first Lysol spraying of the day...
and then well...
I'm going to take a nap!
Hope you have a good one!

A Redo and A Surprise...

Yesterday I posted this card...

took me forever...
but as I said...purely operator error!
But something still bothered me about it and don't you just hate when you're bugged about something and can't shake it until you figure out what's bugging you and then try and fix it?
I figured out what was bugging me...
all the white.
So this morning I did a redo...
and it took me only a fraction of the time it took yesterday because...
well...
I had worked out those bugs...
*giggle*

It was all the white...
it didn't frame it right.
And besides the obvious color changes...
I added a colored frame around the die cut.
I think it looks better...
but you'll have to be the judge of that!

And...
this morning I got such a pleasant surprise from Sharron (OnPapillonWings)...
she awarded me this...

Liebster' is German for 'dearest'.  The award is a 'share-the-love' arrangement, given to inspirational bloggers with less than 200 followers.

Here's the to-do list of any Liebster award recipient:

Thank the giver and link back to the blogger who gave it to you.
Reveal your five blogger picks and let them know by leaving a comment on their blog
Copy and paste the award on your blog (see above)
Hope that those you award forward it to their favourite bloggers

Below are five favorite bloggers who have different styles but always inspire me with their work. I love having this chance to let them know how lucky I have been to meet them through this shared stamping adventure!

Suzanne (The Card Yard)
Amy (Stamp-N-Paradise)
Kim (Cupcakes, Cards and Kim)
Joyce ( Cards-by-the Sea)
Jeanne (A Kept Life)

Thank you so much Sharron!
And now...
my acceptance speech...

"Testing...
testing...
is this mike on?
Thank You,...Thank You for bestowing this privileged honor upon me.
This award makes all of my daily efforts in destroying perfectly good paper worth the time I take to hide from laundry and cooking and occasionally the kids...worth it.
Just knowing that my contribution to the crafting world in the form of blunders and what not to do is recognized as valuable work...
necessary work...
well...
it makes me proud to hide in my crafty space in the name of paper"

*giggle*

Sharron...
with all sincerity...
Thank You!

Waltzingmouse Sketch Challenge #86

It's Saturday!!
The kids are getting over their tummy flu...
the sun is shining...
and it's the weekend...
what can be better than that?
Oh!
I know!
Another Waltzingmouse Sketch Challenge!
*giggle*

This week offers us another fabby sketch from the inspiring Jen Cuthbertson...

Instead of seeing criss cross paper with this one...
I saw individual squares...
and came up with this...

I used papers from the gorgeous new line of My Mind's Eye Miss Caroline...
this is all from Howdy Dowdy...
and the fabulous Waltzingmouse Rescue Remedies.
Don't you just love this set?
Every time I look at it I just sigh with love.

Now are you ready to get crafty?  Go and visit all my fellow Mischief Makers for some amazing inspiration and then link up your creation for us all to oogle with the linky provided on the blog...
just remember to use at least one Waltzingmose product...
Claire has some fabulous freebies here...
and one lucky random participant will win the stamp set of their choice just for playing along!

And don't forget to visit Claire's blog starting tomorrow to see all of what I know will be awe inspiring, jaw dropping inspiration from the DT while they begin previewing 9 new sets to be released on the 29th...
YAY!!!
See you there!

This Was SO Not 5 Minutes...

Last night I played with my new Memory Box umbrella die and had a CAS baby card in 5 minutes...
this is another new Memory Box die...
it took me much longer to do this...

Do you see the die?
That gorgeous frame with the tree...
it's their new Orchard Tree Frame I got in my Absolutely Everything order yesterday!!
Now this card was a morning in the making...
but not because of the die...
that's easy peasy!
No...
this was totally operator error.
This die is A2 card size...
and like a num-num...
I was trying to fit it on an A2 card...
with mats!
I'm totally blaming this one on the kids...
they're all still home sick and we know that's why I wasn't thinking straight because there's no way my staying up past midnight reading A Game of Thrones and then getting up at 5am had absolutely anything to do with my state of num-numness...
right?
I mean...
I had coffee!

So anyway...
finally figured out this was going to be a big card...5 1/2 x 7...and I actually wish I had went with 7 1/2 so I would have had more room to "hang" my silhouette.
And that precious stamp...
it's from my precious friend Suzanne (The Card Yard)!
It's Hero Arts and I'm about to go see what other silhouettes I can get my hands on to go with this die...
because one...
I love this die...
and two...
I love silhouettes of children playing!
I think I need an entire series.

OK...now I've seriously got to go get some work done...
still Lysol'ing everything...
again...
laundry...
maybe a nap...
*giggle*

5 Minutes...

that's all it took to make this...

I had REALLY happy mail today...
so many new goodies I didn't even know where to start...
but since I was die cutting Amy (Stamp-N-Paradise) some of these new umbrella's from Memory Box that I received today from Absolutely Everything...
I decided to start with a needed baby card!
Sweet...
simple...
easy!
Amy's my cohort in crime when it comes to Memory Box dies and Absolutely Everything...
our incredibly fabby don't-know-what-we'd-do-without-her friend Suzanne (The Card Yard) tipped us off about them!
And in case you don't already know...
they ship for free with a $25 order!
And I ordered my last order on Sunday when Patti had restocked with the latest shipment...
Monday was a Holiday so Patti got them in the mail on Tuesday...
I received my goodies today!
You have to go visit them...
http://www.absolutelyeverything.com/
their customer service is incredible!

Stay tuned because I have more new dies!!

I Am A Professional...

procrastinator.
Sad...
but true.
I do it with everything.
I procrastinate with everything in my life...
from getting out of bed in the mornings...
to leaving to drop kiddies at school...
laundry...
grocery shopping...
picking up kiddies at school...
going to bed...
everything.
Name it...
and I put it off until the very last moment.
I have been known to feed my kids dinner at 8:00 because I waited too long to get it started...
this usually occurs on weekends or breaks when I imagine I actually have more time.
I have been known to go screeching into the electric department's parking lot trying to beat them opening because I was awoken in the middle of the night remembering that I had not yet paid the bill and they would be coming to turn off my power...
not because I didn't have the money...
but because I honestly believed I had lots of time to get to it.
I procrastinate with everything.
It's who I am.

So when Joyce (Cards-by-the-Sea) asked me a month ago if I would like to participate in a mini blog hop using PTI's Garden Variety and YOF: Collection...
a couple of sets that have actually never seen ink...
I said "Sure!".
When she told me the date...
I thought "Plenty of time".
Well...
it's time.
And par for me...
I procrastinated.
Not really.
I was just going along on my time.
Unfortunately...
I forgot to factor in a tummy bug that could have...
and did...
hit.

I blame love-of-my-life...
he came down with it first...
then me...
I had 2 kids home yesterday with it...
Dinky was home today...
and Hunter will be home tomorrow.
I have scrubbed, scoured and Lysoled every surface...
and the weather was even warm enough today to open windows and doors and air out the house in hopes of getting rid of any lingering germs that possibly could have survived the Lysol assault.

So I didn't have the time I thought I would...
and only got a couple of cards done...
though I did use both sets and now portions of these sets have now seen ink...
not what I had originally planned when I had lots of time...

OK...you've seen what I wasn't able to accomplish...
so now it's time to go see what the others actually did accomplish...

Joyce
Kim
Marybeth
Gayatri
Jen

And since it's late...
and Hunter will be home with me tomorrow...
I'm going to go read A Game of Thrones until way too late.
It's people like me that is the reason why Starbuck's is sold in the grocery...
and I can have a nice piping hot pot when I actually do manage to stumble out of bed!
See you along the way!

Spring in the South

Hi, everyone!
Yesterday was all about Spring...
how I can't wait to see blue skies...
green grass...
the trees in full bloom.
We've had such a mild Winter here this year...
only a couple of light dusting's...
that when driving down the road you see sprinkling's of buttercups in full bloom all along the roadside...
and now look what is happening outside my window...

This is the view from my front porch...
and the ground is slowly turning white even as I type this.
Since it's a long weekend for the kids the boys didn't even get to flush ice cubes...
run around the table with underwear on their heads...
do The Snow Dance in hopes of that elusive Snow Day.
They have 10 of them banked for this school year...
and don't tell them this...
but that means 10 extra days of school for them!

And just for the record...
even as we woke and watched the morning news...
we were only supposed to get a wintery mix...
no accumulation.

But tomorrow...
we're sunshine and 50's!

I do love the South!

I'm Late...I'm Late

for a very important date!
The important date...
Waltzingmouse Blog Party!!
I'm going to keep this short and simple...
I know there is so much goodness to be seen here...
and I'm so far behind...
so here's my card...

I used Waltzingmouse Teeny Trees for this one...
and my favorite, beloved Grand Madison Window Die from Memory Box/Poppystamps.
I just managed to snag the smaller version at Absolutely Everything last week...
YAY!!

So the theme for this month's Blog Party was Looking Forward to Spring...
which is so true!
I am!
And I can already picture a similar scene outside my own window...
I can't wait till the trees are starting to bud...
the grass turns green...
a blue sky.
There's still time to participate and link up your creation...
check out Claire's blog here!
Now I'm off to catch up with this party!

The Details:

Waltzingmouse Sketch Challenge #85

Hi, everyone!
It's the weekend...
and it's an extra special one...
3 day!!
Yay!!
I do love me some long weekends...
*giggle*

And since it's Saturday that means it's also time for another Waltzingmouse Sketch Challenge...
can I get another "Yay"!!
We have another fabulous sketch from the incredibly talented Jen Cuthbertson...

and when I first saw this one I immediately thought of the circle tops in Teeny Trees...
and since I have Spring on the mind right now...
I came up with this...

I just now realized my sentiment slipped a bit...
and now it's dark and I can't retake this so...
sorry!
That sentiment is from Waltzingmouse Frame It...
thought it made for such a perfect little "just because" card for a friend.
I kept it CAS this week...
used bright colors...
and am just cheered when I think of the colors that inspired this card hopefully soon being spotted outside my windows!

Now we want to see what you can do with this fabby sketch!
Go check out all the inspiring eye candy the Mischief Makers have for you and then get inky and link up!
Just remember to use at least one Waltzingmouse product on your project...
and one random lucky person will win the stamp set of their choice just for playing along!
And don't forget to check Claire's blog this week...
she's going to be sneaking some peek's of the upcoming release sets...
9 sets!!
The incredibly fabulously talented DT will start previewing on the 26th and sets will go on sale on the 29th!
I can't wait!!

4 of a Kind...

Hi, everyone!
Time for another 4 of a Kind with Cathy (Empty Nest Crafter), Joyce (Cards-by-the-Sea) and Kim (Cupcakes, Cards and Kim)...
and this months kit was AH-MA-ZING!!
They always are...
each month when I get that package in the mail I get so excited and rip right into it...
and this month was quite the present!
Literally!
Look at what Kim sent...

But look at all the goodies inside...

Dinky wanted to open the present but turned out all he really wanted was the balloon...
he named it Tibby.
Tibby popped one night and the next day I turned my back and the other balloons had disappeared...
he had already named 2 of them...
Tibby 2 and Tiny...
and had hid the others by the time I realized they were missing.

And a little warning...
but I had such a great time with this kit that this post is very photo heavy...
I'll apologize in advance...

Kim sent so much goodness...
I just had a blast doing all of these cards...
and actually still have a couple laid out that I just couldn't quite figure out so give me some time and hopefully I'll get those finished!
But almost everything came from the kit except for the card base...
I did do some die cutting with some of the paper Kim sent...
and though Kim had also sent the most gorgeous velvet ribbon...
I found myself hoarding it and using some lace from my stash instead.
And I used the PTI Thank You set on the last card because I wanted to use that gorgeous paper...
and that gorgeous set!

OK...can't wait to see what Cathy, Joyce and Kim have come up with using this kit...
make sure you go pop in and see what all they have managed to do...
and now I can't wait to receive my kit for next month from Joyce!
YAY!!

PTI Anniversary Day 10

Hi, everyone!
Popping in very quickly with a card for the last day of challenges celebrating PTI's 5th Anniversary...
and did you see the previews today?
I died!
I knew today would be the "gotcha" day...
not that all of the other days have not been incredibly awe inspiring...
but today was going to be the day to cause me to reevaluate my whole want list for this month...
and did it ever!
I'm in awe of the possibilities these new "Movers and Shakers" open up for interactive cards...
which I have never made one...
so of course that would be the challenge for today...
right?

Creating an interactive card!
And since I'm not a romantic...
and having my hubby say "I'm picking up dinner"  is ranked very high on my list of romantic gestures...
here's my Valentine celebration...
having a go at an interactive card...

Sorry for the photo...
it's already dark.

I used the Boys Basics skateboard die to cut a path for the rocket from Boys Basics: Out of this World...
and then used circles to slide it along the path similar to what Nichole demonstrated in her video this morning...
you can check all the info and videos here.

Hope everyone is having a wonderfully Happy Valentine's Day!

PTI Anniversary Day #7

Can you believe it's already Day 7 of the celebration?
It seems to be going so fast and I haven't gotten to participate quite as much as I had hoped to.
I loved the sketches yesterday...
but had absolutely no mojo for cardmaking so didn't get any done.
I blame it on the rainy, dreary weather we were having...
I'm so ready for Spring.

To celebrate Melissa Bickford's new series Heart 2 Heart we were asked to incorporate hearts into our projects for today...

I did some similar cards for the St. Jude's Valentine card drive recently...
but thought this would also be good to make for the kiddies in my own house!

And I have to give a huge shout out, Thank-You-love-you-more-than-chocolate-and-Mtn Dew to my incredibly amazing and multi-talented friend Suzanne at The Card Yard...
she gave my blog a makeover and did such an amazing job with it...
love how clean it is.
And that header...
she did it lickity split!
Isn't she amazing?
I just adore her and I hope she knows how much...
such a special person!
What I would do without all the amazing friends I have made since starting this blog I have no idea!
AH-MA-ZING I tell ya!

Now I'm off to bed and can't wait to see what Day 8 has in store for us!

Waltzingmouse Sketch Challenge

Hi, everyone!
Hope you have had a fabulous week...
we're in Winter again.
Saw snow flakes yesterday...
just little tiny ones.
And we're going into the teens tonight...
so my early Spring may be slightly delayed.
I had high hopes.

But the good news is it's the weekend...
YAY!!
And you know what every Saturday brings...
another Waltzingmouse Sketch Challenge...
can I get another YAY!!
This week brings another fun and fabby sketch from the talented Jen Cuthbertson...

And since I got some new My Mind's Eye in this week...
someone please remind me that I'm not allowed to buy any more patterned paper till I've used half of what I already have...
maybe around Fall of 2015?...
I had to break out some of that gorgeous paper...

I used Waltzingmouse Cameo Creations and what is fast becoming my favorite sentiment set...
Say It With Style.
I'm telling you I don't know what I would do without this gorgeous set...
it's so versatile!

So time to get crafty and head over to the Walzingmouse Challenge Blog to check out all the incredible eye candy my fellow Mischief Makers have cooked up for your delight...
and then join in!
Just remember to use at least one Waltzingmouse product and then link up so we can oogle your creation!
One lucky random winner will win the stamp set of their choice just for playing along!
And don't forget to mark your calendars...
The Waltzingmouse Blog Party will be on the 17th on Claire's blog...
the theme this month is Looking Forward to Spring and you can check all the details here.
Also...
and this is the big news...
Claire will be releasing 9 new sets on the 29th...
so the incredibly talented DT will be starting previews soon...
don't want to miss that!

Now I'm off to whip up some goodies for the kiddies classes for Valentine's...
it just occurred to me that Valentine's is this Tuesday...
YIKES!!

PTI Anniversary Day #2...

Take 2!
After this quickie post I really have to get ready to start pick ups!
I usually don't mind driving to Nashville...
but why does it seem so far today?
Oh...
I'd rather stay home and play a bit more...
*giggle*

Another card using the fabulous freebie tags from PTI's Anniversary Celebration...
And oh my goodness I actually choose to use the tag from Maile Belles...
I absolutely love her style...
everything she does...
she's so amazingly talented...
and makes CAS look like a cakewalk...
and that's why I purposely avoid trying to emulate her in any way.
CAS...
it's a challenge!

One...
I used purple.
I'm not a purple person.
But I have purple velvet...
and I wanted to use it.
Stocked up after the Holidays at Michael's when they had it for 99 cents a roll...
I got the burgundy for a penny!!
Velvet is my new obsession!
Two...
not a CAS person...
but this is my 2nd one today!
Three...
I apologize profusely for any unintentional insulting that has occurred here today.

I'm going to hope to play with at least one more image...
but we'll have to see what the kiddies have planned for me!

PTI Anniversary Day #2

Popping in really quickly before Mom's Taxi Service has to start afternoon operations...
and I quite honestly should be doing some laundry anyway...
but Day 2 of the PTI Anniversary Celebration is under way...
and today they introduced the stamp designers for the upcoming year...
a lot of familiar faces that we already love...
and some new faces that invite all kinds of possibilities for the future state of a our wallets...
*giggle*
I'm excited to see what 2012 will bring from all of the designers!

They also included a little sample from each designer in a downloadable freebie...
and immediately was drawn to Melissa Bickford's contribution.
The font.
I love the font!
OK...
I DIE over the font.
So trying to sneak in at least one card in for today...
though I'm really hoping to get a couple more done because they're fabulous...
but well...
mom has to work!
Where's the snow when you need it?

I stayed CAS with this one...
very hard for me to do...
and bright colors...
again very hard for me to do...
so what a challenge!
I used a Spellbinders Postage die to create a stamp...
dyed it with a little tea stain around the edges...
then stamped with the postmark from PTI's Postmarks.
And yes...
if you look closely...
but not too close...
