12 Kits...May

That's right...
it's that time again!
Time for another edition of the the 12 Kits of Christmas...
only this month we have a special edition...
it's...

You read right...
it's Hanukkah!
Suzanne even made us a special banner...
isn't she fabulous?

Joyce was in charge of kits this month and because she's Jewish she thought it might be fun to put a spin on things for us and have us create some projects using PTI's Mazel Tov...
look at all the goodies she sent...

Again...this month's incredible photo provided by Kara!

And this kit WAS fun!
One...
I don't own it so it was a first for me to get to play with.
Two...
she gave us a little background about Hanukkah which I admit I didn't know very much about...
and three...
well did you see this fabulous kit?
The colors are gorgeous...
patterns...
elements...
who wouldn't have fun using this?

So here's what I came up with...

Now par for me...
I did hoard some supplies!
One...
for CASE'ing...
because I know I'm going to see some "Why didn't I think of that?" projects from all the other girls that's going to make me glad I hoarded some goodies...
and two...
because I don't have this set and now I have a few things when I may need them!
Sounds reasonable...
right?

OK...you have to go and visit and oogle all the other girls projects...
seriously...
you have to because if you don't then you'll be really upset that you missed the good stuff!
So off you go to see...

Cathy
Suzanne
Marybeth
Joyce
Amy
Christina
Kim
Kara
Jessica
Jeanne
Sharron

And I hope y'all will come back again next month...
Amy's our hostess and I know some happy mail will be arriving soon...
I just love happy mail days!
Hope you have a wonderful week!

Waltzingmouse Sketch Challenge #99

Hello everyone!
Hope you are having a fabulous weekend!
And this is the best kind of weekend...
3 days!!
Can I have a big YAY!!
Granted...3 of my kiddies are now out for Summer break so my 3 day is going to turn into a 9 week weekend...
once we get past just a few days more with Hunter.
But next school year she will be on an almost exact schedule to the others...
a few slight differences...
a first in about 9 years!!
Whew!
One more thing that will make my life a slight bit easier...
no complaints there!

And since it's the weekend...
it's Saturday...
you know what that means...
it's time for another wonderful Waltzingmouse Sketch Challenge!!
And we have another fabulous one from the inspiring Lynn Mercurio...

I know I don't pull out lace and layers often but I did with this one...
this sketch just kind'a says "lace" right?

I used the gorgeous houndstooth label from Very Vintage Labels 25 and did a little selective inking with this fabulous sentiment from Roses in Bloom...
a new-to-me set that truly must see more ink from me very soon!
Some patterned paper from Crate Paper...
gorgeous lace from Waltzingmouse...
and a beautiful bloom that has been in my stash for way too long just waiting for the perfect card...
thank you Cathy!

OK...are you ready to join us and show us your creative take on this one?
Stop by the Waltzingmouse Sketch Challenge Blog and check out all the incredible eye candy the Mischief Makers have for you...
well worth your time believe me!
And then show us your goods by linking up so we can stop by and oogle and one lucky participant will win the stamp set of their choice just for playing along!
Just remember to use at least one Waltzingmouse product...
and we can't wait to see what you create!

And have you heard about The Big Cheese?
Stop by the forum and get all the details but all you have to do is post your creations...
any creations using Waltzingmouse products...
in your own personal photo gallery and then leave a link on the current week and you can be chosen to win a prize (equal to a 4x6 set)!
How easy is that?
Two chances to win free stamps each week!
Love it!

I hope everyone has a wonderfully safe holiday weekend full of family and friends...
but I also hope that during this time we all take a moment to stop reflect on the reason for this holiday and if possible...
thank a serviceman or woman for the sacrifice's that they make for us each day...
and say a prayer for those that have given their lives so that we may enjoy these moments.

PTI Blog Hop

It's the 25th...
and you know what that means...
Blog-hop-logo
I know...
sometimes I forget...
but not this month!
The inspirational photo was too stunning to forget...
check this...

Blog hop inspiration

Can I just say that I love those gingham dishes!!
And I don't know exactly what's inside the bowl...
I don't know if it's even edible...
doesn't matter because I wouldn't touch it...
my 3 yr. old eating habits at work again...
*giggle*...
but even it's gorgeous!
These colors are just stunning!
And for me they portray such an elegance...
and that is unfortunately something that does not belong at the table with my kids...
*giggle*
But I can still admire them right?

Since the colors spoke of elegance to me...
and I believe elegance is in the simple...
the understated...
I kept my card very simple...

I used my had-it-since-February-never-seen-ink Pretty Peonies...
I know!
But they required fussy cutting until last week and if you are someone who failed scissor cutting in kindergarten...
you avoid it all costs!
But now there's dies and as soon as I got my package I was itching to get this set out and play a bit...
finally!
And now I can finally say "OMGoodness I love this set"...
but the dies are the bomb!
*giggle*
I did keep it very simple...
a little AMuse gingham paper...some PTI satin ribbon...
and one of those fabulous sparklet's that Suzanne (thecardyard)  has gotten me hooked on...
voila!

I'm not going to keep you because I know there are oodles of stops to make...
and well...
I'm done now!
*giggle*

The Details
Stamps: Pretty Peonies
Cardstock: Stamper's Select, True Black, Simply Chartreuse
Dies: Pretty Posies
Misc: sparklet, AMuse gingham paper, PTI satin ribbon

It's a Party!!

I know it's not the 17th...
but due to the passing of Claire's beautiful mum last week...
our party was delayed just a bit.
And so now we're hoping that this party will bring a little smile to our lovely Claire...
and we would love for you to join us!
Don't worry...
there's time to get your project finished and posted...
we're on for the next 24 hours!
And you can get all the details from Claire's blog here in case you missed it!

The theme this month was felt/cozy fabric...
and it was a challenge for me to come up with something because I don't use a lot of felt...
maybe I should...
but I think my choice should still count because I did pick it up in a quilting shop and what's more cozy than a quilt?
*giggle*

My new goodies arrived last week and couldn't resist pulling out the new Half Pint Heroines for this one...
especially after I found this incredible fabric at a local quilting shop that just has balloon written all over it!
So I stamped the balloon portion onto the fabric...then adhered it to a sheet of cardstock to give it a little more sturdiness...
and then cut it out and popped it onto another stamped image on what was to become the card front!
Everything is from Half Pint Heroines...
even the clouds...
though I do wish you could see the light blue Copic I used on them a bit better...
they look stunning in real life...
trust me!
*giggle*

And the sentiments in this set...
I just smile every time I see them because Claire managed to capture a mother's heart with each one.
And my heart actually had my daughter in mind when doing this.

She's in a class with around 500 other kids and earlier in the year the entire 8th grade took the ACT Explorer...
which is a prelude to the ACT that they'll take in a few years and is used as a benchmark for how well they can be expected to perform on the actual ACT...
you're supposed to add 4 points to the score and that will give an minimum indication of what they can expect to receive on the full test their junior year.
And out of the 500 kids in her class only 19 scored a 22 or higher...24 being the highest...and she was one of them.
They were recognized earlier in the year with photos being placed of them in the main hallway with each of their scores...
she scored 22...
a full page devoted to them in the yearbook...
and during awards last week they were recognized again with gifts from the college that they hope to someday attend...
she chose Vanderbilt.
Now she's already taken the full ACT...
she took it last year along with juniors and seniors when she was barely 13 through Duke University's TIP program...
and had a composite score of 20 then...
with no studying or coaching...
no preparation of any degree.
Can you tell that I'm just slightly a very proud mom?
She's a really great kid...
artistic...
sweet...
smart...
beautiful...
and so the inside of this card reads...
"And she could do anything...
and I was so proud of her".
Because she can...
and I am.

OK...I've kept you long enough...
you know moms!
*wink*
But I know that there's so many other incredibly inspirational stops along the way...
so off you go and I will see you there!

Cardstock: PTI Stamper's Select

Waltzingmouse Sketch Challenge #98

Hello everyone!
Hope you have had a wonderful week!
By this time next week Summer break will have started for 3 of my kiddies...
Hunter has 3 days the week following Memorial Day...
but I think I'm safe to say...
YAY!!
Summer Break!!
No schedule...
jammie days...
sun...
crafting...
and oodles of projects!!

Now not going to keep you long...
I'm right in the middle of that bath makeover again.
Suddenly I found my schedule jammed and no time so it's been frozen for a couple of weeks...
but I'm hoping by tomorrow night I'll be done with papering!
It's the only room in the house with wallcovering...
and I can't wait to show you what I've done!

So this week at Waltzingmouse Sketch Challenge we have an incredible sketch from the amazingly talented Lynn Mercurio...

and you may recognize it...
it's based off this fabulous card that Lynn showcased during the February release using French Country...

and I was thrilled to see this sketch because I loved this card and swore I was going to CASE it...
so of course I needed a kick to actually do it!
*giggle*
And here's what I did with it...

A CAS using Asian Gardens and  Asian Garden Additions!
I just took various images from both sets and stamped them on small squares...
except for the tree...
and I popped a few of those blooms just to add a little something!

OK...you have to give this one a try!
This sketch is so fabulous and can be interpreted so many ways...
go pop over to the Waltzingmouse Sketch Challenge Blog and see all the incredible eye candy the Mischief Makers have cooked up for you for a little inspiration!
Then get inky and link up your creation with the link provided and one lucky participant will win the stamp set of their choice just for playing along!
Just remember to use at least one Waltzingmouse product!
And while you're visiting the Sketch Blog...
take a moment and welcome our new addition...
Jeanne Jachna!!
Her creations just leave me with my mouth hanging in awe...
she's so amazing and I'm so glad she has joined us!!

And in case you weren't aware...
we were so saddened to hear of the passing of Claire's mum last week
and Blog Party was postponed till this coming Thursday...
May 24th...
so there's still plenty of time to get a project done and join us!
You can get all the details at Claire's blog here.

And have you heard about our Big Cheese?
There's another chance for a free stamp...
so you don't want to miss this!
And all you have to do is show us your creations...
any creations...
using Waltzingmouse products!!
Just visit the forum and click on "Gallery" and look for the current week then leave a link to your project in your gallery and that's it!! :)

Hope you have a wonderful week...
and I'll be looking for you Thursday!
And Claire...you're in our thoughts, hearts and prayers!

4 of a Kind-May

edited: Par for me...I'm late!  Sorry!  I have NO idea what happened! :(

Hello everyone!
It's that time of the month again...

another 4 of a Kind with Joyce, Cathy and Kim!
This month it was Cathy's turn to hostess and she sent out such an incredible kit...
bold colors and patterns...
and using PTI's new Trendy Tree Tops...
along with some other new dies and goodies!
Take a gander at this...

I was quite honestly overwhelmed with the amount of goodies...
didn't know where to start!
And unfortunately...
I also didn't time myself very well...
it's the end of the school year and I am running everyday with kids and this and that...
plus I kind'a got wrapped up in some books...
have you read the Divergent series?
If you're a fan of The Hunger Games...
this new series is a definite recommend!
Though the 2nd one was just released at the first of the month so now I have to wait a year for the conclusion.
And I also discovered Lind Castillo's Silence series...
hooked...
and waiting for the new one in just a couple of weeks!
So I got distracted...
I TOLD you this sometimes happens! :)
But I did get a couple of cards done...
and they were super easy...
as Joyce would say...
"They assembled themselves"!
*giggle*
And here we go...

Those In the Meadow dies...
I use them for everything!

And yes...
I have oodles of supplies left over!
Which is kind'a nice since I don't own Trendy Tree Tops...
if I ever need it I can just pull from my stash of supplies and voila!!

Keeping this short because you need to go visit

Cathy
Joyce
Kim

and see the fabulous creations I know they came up with!
I promise to do better next month...
school will be out...
and somehow it just seems as though there's more hours in the day during Summer break...
am I right?
Maybe I'm imagining...
*giggle*

Waltzingmouse Sketch Challenge # 97

Good Saturday Morning everyone!
Hope you had a fabulous week...
but I sure am glad it's over!
There has been so much going on that I don't think I've even had time to breathe...
much less anything else.
And it's not over!
More running today because it is baby child's birthday!
Going out for some fun this morning...
then Haley has one more performance of her middle school play this afternoon...
and then we get the prize of all dinners...
picked by Dinky himself...
McDonald's!
GROAN!!!
I know...
but it's what he wants!
I tried to talk him into something else...
so far no luck...
but the day's not over yet!
*giggle*

But it IS Saturday...
and we know how much fun Saturday's are...
right?
Time for another Waltzingmouse Sketch Challenge...
YAY!!!
And this week we have a fabby sketch by our own very talented Lynn Mercurio...

Isn't it great?
There's so many things you can do with this...
but because I'm always on time and so prepared for things...
*giggle*
I used it for a Mother's Day card for my mom!

I used the fabulous Waltzingmouse French Country and Chicken Wire for this one...
the perfect sets for my mom!
She's all country...
and loves roosters!
You should see her kitchen!
And these sets are so perfect...
it's like Claire made them just for me so I could make things just for her!
The sentiment is from Say It With Style...
and on the inside...

a little Fancy Phrases!
I love how this particular set has sentiments that incorporate more than one in the sentiment...
"we"...
"our"...
those are so hard to find and sometimes you really need them...
but Claire's got your back!
*giggle*

OK...because I have a little guy ready to start "Dinky Day"...
I'm going to keep this short!
But you have to go and check out all the incredible inspiration over on the Waltzingmouse Sketch Challenge Blog from all the amazingly talented Mischief Makers...
and then go and get inky!
Link up your creation so we can cruise by and oogle your talent...
and one lucky participant will win the stamp set of their choice just for playing along!

And did you catch the new release on Tuesday?
Claire has created some of the best sentiment sets...
ever!!
You have to go and check them out...
along with the much requested and highly anticipated Half Pint Heroines to coordinate with Half Pint Heroes!
And don't forget about the Blog Party on the 17th!
Check out all the details on Claire's blog here...
and I can't wait to see you there!

Wishing all the mothers everywhere a very Happy Mother's Day!
And after the week I've had...
I hope mine is spent in bed!

Happy 29th!!

If you're looking for my Waltzingmouse Sketch Challenge...click here or just scroll down!

Today is a special friend's very special day...
Joyce (Cards-by-the-Sea) is turning 29...
YAY!!!
*giggle*
OK...it is possible that she may have actually seen this age a couple of times already...
but it makes today no less special...
so some friends are all gathered to wish her the greatest of days...

Here is my card I made just for her...
which I know she's seeing here first because well...
par for me...
I'm late!!
SURPRISE!!!
*giggle*
I really hope the mailman delivers it today though...

When I saw this card from Amy (Stamp'n'Paradise) during a Market Street release...
I just loved it...
I died...
so I "borrowed" her idea of trying to recreate a little subway art using Waltzingmouse Back in the Saddle

Here's a list of everyone here to wish Joyce a Happy, Happy Day...

And if you've never visited her at her blog...
take a moment and pop over to wish her huge happiness on her special day!
She is just such a treasured friend...
so friendly and sweet...
always there with an encouraging word...
so positive and energetic...
a creative soul...
we're all so lucky to call her our friend!

Edit: 5-5-12
Because I'm me...
and I also had a really busy day yesterday...
ok...a really busy week and I'm behind about 5000 posts on my blog reader...
I just realized this also fits the CAS-UAL Fridays challenge for this week...

A challenge blog I don't get to participate in as much as I would like...
BUT...
Summer break is almost here so that also means I get more hours in each day...
right?
*giggle*
YAY!!!
HAPPY 1ST BIRTHDAY CAS-UAL FRIDAYS!!
Before you came along I never even attempted CAS...
so thank you for all the inspiration!

Waltzingmouse Sketch #96

Hi, everyone!
Hope you are having a fabulous weekend where you are!
I'm still working on a small bath...
got sidetracked this week...
but I'll be plugging away again today with it!
Hopefully it will be finished by the end of the weekend and then I can get new curtains and things next week!

So...it's Saturday!
Only 3 more weeks...
YAY!!
It already feels like Summer here...
turned on the air last week.
I hate turning it on so early...
but there comes a time when you just have to ask yourself how much can you endure when you know salvation is hanging on the wall and all you have to do is flip a switch?
I'm weak.
But as weak as I am...
that Yankee born man I love and married...
he's so much more so!
*giggle*
So are you already experiencing Summer temps where you are?
Well...
I have the solution!
Flip the switch on the 8th wonder of the world on the wall...
grab a cold Dew...
and get inky because it's time for another Waltzingmouse Sketch Challenge!
*giggle*
This week with have such a fabulously fun sketch from our amazing DT Kelly...

I told you this one was fun...
and I had so much fun doing this...

I used...
new to me...
Waltzingmouse Back in the Saddle!
And please answer me this...
how I did I resist this set for so long?!!
It is so much fun...
has some of the best sentiments...
and as soon as I saw Kelly's sketch...
I knew exactly what I was going to do!
I did a little flip...
used a square instead of a circle...
and created little flags out of "made for this set" paper...October Afternoon's Sasparilla.
That fabulous twine ribbon...
Ribbon Carousel!
And used some mailing twine and a "why do I have 5000 of them when I almost never use them" brad to hopefully make the sentiment look like a wall hanging...
did it work?

So ready to join me and my fellow Mischief Makers in some air conditioned fun?
Hop over to the Waltzingmouse Sketch Challenge Blog and check out all their amazing inspiration and then go get inky!
Just remember to use at least one Waltzingmouse product on your project...
and link up for your chance to win the stamp set of your choice just for playing along!

And that's not all this week!
Claire is having a small release on the 8th...
you can read all the details here...
and make sure you leave a comment because she is giving away an awesome prize to one...
maybe two...
maybe three...
how high can we go...
lucky participant(s)!!
And make sure to check out all the incredibly amazing samples that the design team will have for you...
they always just blow me away and I'm just left in awe!

Hope you have a wonderful week...
and can't wait to see what you create!
