Waltzingmouse Sketch Challenge #104

Happy Saturday everyone!
Hope you have had a fabulous week!
Are you in the throes of a wretched heat wave too?
The official high yesterday in Nashville was 109!
Now that means unofficially...
it was well over 109!
I know this because they measure at the airport...
which I drive by everyday picking up Hunter from school...
(I know! We're on Summer break but when she does have school)...
and that's not the hottest part of Nashville because I always hit the high around the Charlotte Pike area...
right about where I took out a chunk of concrete in the concrete barrier when I hit it at about 55 miles an hour a few years ago in a rainy day accident ...
and totally walked away with just a few bruises!!

So anyway...
I know we were well over 109!
When you open the door the heat just hits you in the face and sucks all the air right outta of ya!
It's the kind of day that you stay inside and celebrate the 8th wonder of the world...
air conditioning!
Though since we are predicted to have an entire week of record breaking temps like this...
I worry about losing power!
Some areas have.

OK...
so I'm inside...
you would think I would just have all kinds of crafty time right?
Wrong!
Let's see this week...
bedroom ceiling repaired from leaking roof...check!
Moved the girls entire room to the DR temporarily...check!
Painted the ceiling and walls in girls room...check!
Celebrated 20 years of marriage...check!
Painted doors and trim in girls room...in process!
Laying new flooring in girls room...in process!
Ruined two batches of banana nut bread by not paying attention...check!
Chased the baby child out of the freezer trying to sneak popsicles at least 20 times a day...in process!
*giggle*
See a busy week!
Where did all my extra Summertime hours go?
But at least I always get to end every week with my favorite challenge of all...
a new Waltzingmouse Sketch!!
And this week we have a gorgeous one from the incredible Teresa Kline...

Told you it was gorgeous!
Now...
this week I did something a little different.
You know how I always say you only need one image to participate in the challenges...
just one...
that's all?
Well...
I thought I would show you how easy that really is...

See?
Can you spot it?
I used the fabulous fonted Compact Sentiments 2 to stamp inside the sun!
Everything else is patterned paper from my oh-I-die-every-time-I-see-it-because-it's-my-new-absolute-favorite-paper-in-the-whole-wide-world Simple Stories Summer Fresh!
And isn't that sentiment perfect for it?
And just one image!
See how easy it is to participate?

So are you ready to join us in this week's gorgeous sketch?
Hop over to the Waltzingmouse Sketch Challenge Blog and check out all the gorgeous and inspiring creations the Mischief Makers have for you...
and then ink up!
Just remember to use that one Waltzingmouse image...
and one lucky participant will win the stamp set of their choice just for playing along!
Also...
don't forget to upload your creation in your gallery and then provide a link on the forum for this week's Big Cheese!

And have you been ogling the new goodies that Claire and Anya are releasing tomorrow?
And what about the new "bitesize" Waltzingmouse sets?
What?
You've missed this?!
Well... you just need to hop over to Claire's blog here and catch up...

Waltzingmouse Sketch Challenge #103

Happy Saturday everyone!
Hope you have had a wonderful week!
Summer has arrived here in the South!
Temps in the mid 90's...
dry...
humid...
and no rain in sight!
But it's the South so we'll see those temps go higher...
more humidity...
less rain...
and brown grass before Summer's over! :)
That's why I try to stay indoors as much as possible and celebrate the joys of the 8th wonder...
air conditioning!
But by the time you read this...
I'll be outside helping hubby finally put up those awnings...
and we've still got the landscaping wall to build...
(we're not very skilled so things take us longer)...
I wish we had been better organized and gotten all this done sooner...
like February sooner...
when it's cool out...
but on the good side...
maybe I'll sweat a few pounds off by the end of the day!
*giggle*
Or  knowing me I'll probably just throw in the towel, sit down and just have a Dew.
It's the way I roll! :)

But since it's Saturday...
it's time for another Waltzingmouse Sketch Challenge...
and do we have a challenge for you this week!
Just out this incredible sketch from Mischief Maker Edna Morrisedie...

Told you!
And it took me a while to figure this one out...
but it was so much fun...
and here's what I came up with....

I had found...
and thought I had pinned...
a picture on Pinterest of cherry blossoms that were painted onto "blurry" patches of white on text...
it was gorgeous and I immediately saw Asian Gardens and those gorgeous blossoms that I just can't seem to get enough of and used that photo for my inspiration...
though in reality I actually forgot to pin the picture...
sorry!
I tried to give the "blurry white" effect with white ink because I went to grab my acrylic paint and discovered I was out...
note to self...
pick up more white acrylic paint...
but it didn't get as "deep" as I had hoped.
Now pop quiz...
I used a page out of one of my most very favorite books of all time...
no worries though...
this was an extra copy...
can you guess what it is?

I used sentiments from Asian Gardens...
just stamped onto small pieces of cardstock...
along with some black pearls to fill in some spaces...
and then attached it all to the front of a Spellbinders Lattice Rectangle.

So are you up for the challenge?
Of course you are!
Drop by the Waltzingmouse Sketch Blog and check out all the incredible inspiration the Mischief Makers have for you...
and then go get inky and link up so we can oogle your creation!
Just remember to use at least one Waltzingmouse product...
and one lucky participant will win the stamp set of their choice just for playing along!
Also...
don't forget to post your project over to your gallery and then provide a link on the current week for a chance to be the Big Cheese and another opportunity for a fabby prize!

And have you heard?
New stamps coming at you on July 1st!
YAY!!
Claire and the incredibly, awe inspiring DT will be starting some previews soon...
so be sure to check Claire's blog for details...
you don't want to miss them!

Thanks so much for stopping by and hope you have an wonderfully crafty week!

It's Party Time!

Yup!
Not only is today Father's Day here in the States...
but it's also Blog Party with Waltzingmouse Stamps in blogland!
It's always such a fun day...
full of inspiration...
and this month we were challenged with a photo and color challenge...
check out this beauty...

Don't you just love the colors?

Now 1st...
par for me...
I have trouble with anything more than 3 colors so this really was a challenge...
and am I the only one who has this problem?
Also...
I'm a professional procrastinator.
Seriously...
if it was an actual job title...
I could be hired on the spot!
It's a very rare event for me to be ahead of the game on anything...
even when I plan...
I'm still screeching in at the last minute!
So even though I've had an idea since the picture was posted on the 1st...
I had 17 days!
To a professional like me...
that's like...
a lifetime!
*giggle*
So I planned to wait until yesterday to actually do it...
and then...
had the mother of all migraines!
You would think I would also learn to plan for these glitches right?
That sometimes things just go wrong and you should always be prepared?
Yeah...
that's just not the way I roll.
And not only was it just a migraine...
hubby had taken the last Advil a few days ago and that person who is responsible for doing the shopping...
well...
she forgot to pick up more at the grocery so not an aspirin, Tylenol or Advil in the house...
and hubby was out all day having some fun while I was on my deathbed writhing in pain.
I think that person should be grounded and told to stay in her room all by herself and let someone else do all the cooking, cleaning and laundry until she learns her lesson and remembers to actually take the shopping list with her!
*giggle*

So my procrastination/migraine led to this...

How could I not use Asian Gardens?
Those branches of blossoms...
they said Asian Gardens.
I cut panels to represent the panels on the wall...
and I managed to work in all the colors though I know I am severely challenged in this area...
sorry.

OK...
kept you long enough and now you need to hop off and see all of the inspiring creations everyone has for you!
There's still time to link up your creations...
this party is 24 hrs of inspiration...
so no worries if you've procrastinated too and hope to see you along the way!

And I also hope you have a wonderful day celebrating with all the Dads, Husbands, Grandfathers, Uncles...
all the men in your life!

The Details:
Stamps: Waltzingmouse Asian Gardens
Cardstock: PTI Hawaiian Shores, Aqua Mist, Bazzill Thunderstorm, WP9 White
Misc: bling

Waltzingmouse Sketch Challenge #102

Good Saturday morning everyone!
Hope you have had a fabulous week!
Busy one here!
After last Summer's fall and not being able to get projects completed...
I'm trying to make up for it this year!
And it didn't help that we had a lot more damage to our roof than we originally thought back during Spring storms...
we didn't know until our daughter's ceiling started pouring water a few weeks ago during a weekend of rain...
yeah...
not so good.
So we got a new roof last week...
and now we're waiting on new guttering and vinyl and then the sheetrock man to come in and repair the interior damage!
Along with trying to finish the new patio...
painting...
I'm busy everyday!
But hoping to have everything finished by the end of the month so at least we can just enjoy July.
And it helps that we're not planning any trips till Fall when the weather cools and lines are not as long...
but wanting to do some day trips with the kids if I find enough courage to venture out in public with The Lynch Mob...
*giggle*

So as busy as I am...
there's always time for play right?
And you know what Saturday's mean...
another fabulously fun Waltzingmouse Sketch Challenge...
YAY!!
And this week is another fabby sketch from the wonderfully talented Edna Morrisedie...

And I took a little liberty with this one...
flipped it and then flipped again...
*giggle*...

I used the incredibly gorgeous small houndstooth pattern from Anya's Heirloom Patterns...
have you tried them yet?
So easy to use and they line up so perfectly...
you gotta give them a try!
And that fabby bold sentiment is from the spectacular Compact Sentiment line...
again...
have you tried?
You have to!
Claire has managed to pack so much into these sets...
seriously...
every person...
every occasion...
you're covered!
"Hello" happens to be from Compact Sentiments 2...
and it's just the perfect everyday-just-want-to-send-a-friend-a-card sentiment!

So are you ready to join us in a little fun time?
Head over to the Waltzingmouse Sketch Challenge Blog and check out all the yummy eye candy the Mischief Makers and DT have for you...
and make sure to give a huge welcome to our guest MM...
Vickie Zimmer...
YAY!!

But before linking up...
just make sure to use at least one Waltzingmouse product...
and one lucky participant will win the stamp set of their choice just for playing along!

And don't forget to link up your creation in your gallery and on the forum for your chance to be The Big Cheese!

OK...
tomorrow's the 17th and you know what that means...
Waltzingmouse Blog Party!!
Now I know that it's also Father's Day here in the States...
but no worries...
this is a 24 hour party...
there will be plenty of time to join in!
You can get all the details from Claire's blog here...
and hope to see you there!

Wishing you all a great week and I'll see you at the party!

4 of a Kind June

Hi, everyone!
It's that time of the month again...
another...

with Joyce, Cathy and Kim!
Kim was our hostess this month and sent some yummy Summery goodness...
check this out...

She used PTI's Fruit Fusions in Apple, Grape and Cherry...
in fabulous colors...
and some awesome little goodies to coordinate!
And par for me...
kept mine simple...

Sweet, simple little cards for when I just need a quick one!
I especially like the first two...
no sentiment because I love notecards...
no "Thank You"..."Thinking of You"...
just a plain, simple, little card that I can write a message in and send it on it's way!
Do you like receiving those kind of cards...
where I guess the handwritten message is the sentiment?
I like sending them...
but maybe I've got it wrong...
how about you let me know!

OK...
you gotta go check out what

Cathy
Joyce
Kim

were able to do with this fun and fabby kit...
I was thinking Summer the whole time with this one!
Thanks so much Kim for such a great kit...
and so much of it because like always...
I have oodles left!!
Next month Joyce is our hostess and I received happy mail today...
it's fabulous and can't wait to work with it!!
Though knowing me...
I'll do it next month around or on the 15th!!
*giggle*

awed...
and inspired by of your creations!!
All of you...
standing ovation!!
You deserve it!

the bestest day of the week...
it's time for another fabulous Waltzingmouse Sketch Challenge!
You're going to love this one from our wonderfully talented Edna Morrisedie...

Isn't this one a fun one?
And here's what I did...

I've had this fabulous plaid ribbon from Ribbon Carousel for a bit and have wanted to use with French Country and this was the perfect sketch for it!
I stamped my background with that incredible background stamp that I just die over every time I see it...
a stylin' purple rooster...
and the sentiment is from my favorite sentiment set...
Say It With Style.
Now the bow...
don't laugh at it...
I know it needs work.
But I saw this incredible bow on Jeanne's (A Kept Life) blog the other day...
and I wanted to do it too...
but her's is so FLUFFY!!!  (said in my best Agnes...Despicable Me...voice)
I tried.
I'll keep trying.
But isn't the ribbon gorgeous...
and doesn't it look perfect with French Country?

Alright...we're ready to see what you can create with this!
Hop over to the Waltzingmouse Sketch Challenge blog and check all the eye candy the Mischief Makers have for you...
and then link up so we can stop by and oogle!
Just remember to use at least one Waltzingmouse product...
and one lucky participant will win the stamp set of their choice just for playing along!
And don't forget to also upload to your Waltzingmouse gallery and then provide a link on the forum for the weekly Big Cheese...

OK...I'm off!
Hope you have a fabulously wonderful weekend!
We finally got our patio poured and we're going to be working on a landscaping wall this weekend...

air conditioning!

That's right!

Now you know today is Saturday...
the bestest day of the week...
and you know what every Saturday brings...
right?
A new Waltzingmouse Sketch Challenge!
YAY!!
And today is no different...
EXCEPT...
this week is Super Duper Extra Special!
And it's Super Duper Extra Special because...
today marks our...

100th Sketch Challenge!!!

Can I get a BIG...
YAY...

WHOO-HOO...

YEE-HAW...
or just whatever expression may be your own personal favorite...
as long as it requires exclamation points!!!
*giggle*
Because we are celebrating...
BIG TIME!!
Only first...
you have to see our ultra fabulous sketch from the wonderfully talented Edna Morrisedie...

I told you it was fabulous!
*giggle*
Are you already thinking?
Figuring out sets you want to use...
colors...
papers...
ohhhh...
you're gonna want to!
And yes...
I'm horrible for keeping you in suspense over the big news but what do expect from someone who told her boys her minivan was actually an Autobot named Minnie and transformed each night while they were asleep to fight Decepticons just so she wouldn't have to admit she was responsible for the chocolate candy wrappers I she forgot to dispose of?
And yes...
Minnie ate them.
She needed a burst of energy because fighting the laundry and traffic those evil Decepticons is exhausting!
Really.
*giggle*
I also love just keeping you in suspense...
but you're one step closer because here's what I did with this fabby sketch...

I had to use the new Compact Sentiments 2 for this one...
I fell head over heels when I saw this sentiment...
because it just so happens that being Southern means not only do I hear it quite often...
I also use it quite often around here!
And in Claire's fabby font...
what could be more perfect?
Oh!
I know!
Adding some of those adorable bees from Lil' Buddies!
They are the icing on the cake with this one!
Just stamped and colored with a Copic...
then added some MS ultra fine glitter in white to make their little wings pop...
and finished them off with some hand drawn flight lines.
I found that paper hidden in Echo Park's This and That Charming pad...
a couple of scallops...
some lace and twine...
and that big black button...
there we go!

So now are you ready to play?
Oh!
I forgot to tell you what you're playing for?
I guess I should tell you that...right?
Well...
as you know every week there's a random lucky participant who will win the stamp set of their choice just for playing along but this week...
there will be random lucky participants just for playing along!
For every 50 cards or projects linked up...there will be one stamp set won.
So one set for the first 50...
50-99...2 stamp sets.
100...3 stamp sets...
you get the idea!
And you can enter as many times as you like...
the sky's the limit!
BUT in addition to that...
and our weekly Top Mouse awards...
one participant will be chosen to be Guest Mischief Maker for a month!!!
NOW can I get a whopping YAY?!!!
You need to hop over to the Waltzingmouse Sketch Challenge Blog because one...
you have to check out all the incredible, inspiring eye candy from the Mischief Makers and the Design Team...
I promise you won't be disappointed!
And two...
Lynn is so much better with all the fine details than I am...
I just like spilling the beans!
*giggle*
Just remember to use at least one Waltzingmouse product...
and don't worry!
